We have seen
events happening all over the world, some meant to be for the good and some
evil in nature. At times, we have reacted, at times we have remained silent but
at this juncture arises a pretty simple doubt in mind,” Why such differences in
our reactions between two different events?”. Is it because some of these
affect us and some do not or our mindset is such which is bound not to react to
anything that happens around the world? It sounds weird when read at the first
instance but the time has come that each of us really think about it.
We cry for
development, we crave for happiness but never do we really think about our
fellow beings who along with us tread on this journey of life. None of their
requirements, their desires nor their opinions matter to us till the time it
does not affect us in any way. Their voices are made to be suppressed by the
power of few but again arises another doubt, “Who gave us this power, the authority
to command at our own will without hearing the voice of the masses?”. We somehow
tend to misinterpret the belief which people entrust us with an authority, a
power which can function at its own will which only benefits a few and causes
harm to a larger section of people.
It seems to be
unrelated but that is how our so called modern, developed society functions at
a larger scale. Most of us, irrespective of our profession, function only to
benefit our own selves and their immediate family without even thinking about
its effects on the society or to say it in a simpler way, the other people that
exist in this world. There is a short phrase” All is well when all our together”
but somehow everyone seems to have forgotten it or are ignoring it.
Each one of us
is time bound due to our commitments and its really good to be punctual at all
times but the world does not come crashing down when one stops to help someone
who is genuinely in need of our help. What we believe is that we will lose our
precious time by helping someone but no one ever thinks that by helping someone
in need, one can genuinely gain their blessings for their own future which in a
business term is called an investment if that is how everyone understands it.
This does not
remain another article on humanity or mankind. It remains a commitment towards
making this society a better place to live in where everyone sings along in
harmony to move ahead holding each other so that the future of the generations
to come is not at any risk. It is really important to understand that our
presence matters to this society and that none of us are bad in any manner. It is
just that we have forgotten the meaning of togetherness which needs to be
revived within us. Also, at the same time it is important to understand that a
small change within us does certainly have an impact which might not be felt in
the present but certainly it can have a positive impact on the future. Let us
all commit to make this world a better place to live in, a dream which all of
us wish comes true but nothing is possible without the efforts of each of us.
